What is EAP

What is EAP?

EAP stands for Employee Assistance Program, and is a short-term, solution-focussed referral and counselling service available to through your workplace. Depending upon your organisation's needs, it may also include Critical Incident Support (CISM), and ManagersHelp.

It is confidential service provided externally to your organisation by psychologists and social workers to assist with workplace and/or personal issues that you may be experiencing.These may include:

  • Work related issues such as: work performance, job security, career, motivation, stress, conflict and harassment.
  • Personal issues such as: depression; anxiety, grief and loss, fear/phobias, personal development, trust, self esteem, anger, alcohol and drug use, gambling, and other health related issues.
  • Family and relationship issues such as: parenting, family violence, intimacy, generational difficulties, and other family challenges.

The EAP is funded by your workplace and is provided at no cost to you, and you don't need a medicare referral.

 

 

'myEAP' services are provided by Caraniche, an Australian psychological services company with 18 years experience supporting corporate, industrial, government, health and welfare sectors.  The following services may be included in an Employee Assistance Program (depending upon your organisation's needs).

Additional EAP Services

These include training, supervision, career support and mediation amongst others.
